SOLD – Orquesta Aragon LP – Golden Cuban Rhythm (196?)
I have to admit I got this LP out of pure curiosity for the music. And yes, out of admiration for the beauty of exploitation movie icon Edwige Fenech which is (oddly) featured on the cover of this album.
The Cuban group Orquesta Aragon, was formed on 30 September 1939, in Cienfuegos, Cuba, by contra-bassist Orestes Aragón Cantero. The band originally had the name Ritmica 39, then Ritmica Aragon before settling on its final form. Arguably the best charanga in Cuba during 1950’s and 60’s, and is still active.
